What is C. Diff?

C. difficile (C. diff) is a bacterium that causes severe, frequent watery diarrhea, stomach cramping, and fever. It often strikes after taking antibiotics, which disrupt the gut’s natural balance.

Currently, there is no vaccine available to prevent this serious infection. This study aims to change that.

Eligibility

We are looking for participants who meet the following criteria:

65 years or older, and at least one of the following in the past 12 months:

  • A hospital stay of 2+ nights
  • At least 2 Emergency Room visits
  • 10+ visits to a doctor or specialist
  • 2+ days of antibiotics (oral or injected) in the last 12 weeks
